The focus is not only the Classic and Idealism heyday of Weimar at Goethe´s time, but also the Second Golden Age of Weimar in the 1920´s and the Bauhaus, development as a provincial town and the time after the political turn at the last century.

Feininger´s finest
Feininger is best known for the semi-abstract landscapes and cityscapes that he started painting in earnest. In them shafts of blurry light, falling on indistinct suggestions of church steeples and buildings suggest a kind of heavenly immanence. On his wanderings by bicycle around Weimar he found inspiration and his monumental motifs. At this bike-tour we are on his trail. Bring your sketchbook!
